A Recap of the May 27th Artists' Tour Aboard the SS United States
A select group of photographers had the opportunity to tour America's Flagship to help document and study the her incredible design.
The SS United States Conservancy recently invited a small group of photographers to come on board the SS United States to participate in a special creative project. What never ceases to amaze us is how the ship inspires such a broad range of creative perspectives. Rarely are two ever alike, as demonstrated by the work of these photographers.
These variations are constant reminders of the numerous possibilities presented by the Big U for rehabilitation into a stationary, mixed-use development. They are also a testament to how, no matter the lens through which we view the world, we are all part of the same mission to save America’s Flagship, the SS United States.
Thanks to Gene Pappetti, Jim Trynosky, and Mike Russell for sharing their photos with us! If you're as excited as we are about the future of the ship, make your donation today and support our efforts to rescue and revitalize an American icon.
